Getting started with Adoptest for Confluence (beta)

Thank you for trying Adoptest. This guide takes about five minutes.

Adoptest checks whether someone could actually complete a task from a Confluence how-to page. It scores the page out of 10, shows what is missing, and checks it against the product. It does not write or change your pages.

1. Install it

A site admin does this once.

  1. Open the installation link you were sent.
  2. Choose your Confluence site, then Confluence.
  3. Review the permissions Adoptest asks for, then install.

You must be an admin of the Confluence site to install it.

2. Check your first page

  1. Open any how-to page: a procedure, an onboarding guide, a support article.
  2. Select ••• (top right), then Adoptest.
  3. Select Check this page.

What you get

Three scores out of 10:

Ability to follow
Could a reader finish the task?
Publish confidence
How far "ready to publish" can be trusted.
Agent-readiness
Could an AI assistant use this page safely?

8.5 or more means Ready to publish.

  • What the page has and lacks: who it is for, prerequisites, the expected result, numbered steps, controls in bold, and more. Each missing part comes with a suggested fix.
  • Wording: places to simplify, each one quoting your page.

To check different text without changing the page, select Edit page text. What is in the box is exactly what gets checked.

3. Check it against the product (optional)

Open the Product tab and paste one of these:

  • an automated test (Playwright)
  • a screen snapshot (accessibility snapshot)
  • a transcript or captions of someone doing the task

Then select Check this page again. Each difference is listed with the page's wording and the product's wording side by side.

To keep a result, open Approve and approve it as the baseline. Later checks show what changed since, and who approved it.

4. Share the result

Select Post summary as a comment to add the result to the page. The page owner is @mentioned.

Every page also shows a small Adoptest badge next to its byline. Select it to see why the page is verified or needs work.

Your trial

  • Your site has a 10-day trial of Pro. It starts the first time anyone on the site opens Adoptest. The panel shows the days left.
  • Prime adds the space-wide view: a dashboard of every page, trends, edit alerts, marking pages stale or ready to archive, and a Word report. It is not part of the trial. To try it, email us with the site ID shown in the panel.
  • AI checks are limited per site each month. Rechecking a page that hasn't changed doesn't count. If the limit is reached, the panel says so, and the rule-based checks keep working.
  • When the trial ends, Adoptest stops on your site. Nothing is deleted. To continue, email us.

Your data

  • Adoptest runs inside Atlassian's platform, and so does its AI. Your content is not sent to us.
  • Checks you run use your own Confluence permissions.
  • With Prime, Adoptest also re-reads the space on a schedule and checks pages when they're edited. These checks run as the app, which can only read spaces an admin has given it.
  • Scores, marks and history are kept in your site's app storage, and removed if the app is uninstalled.

Tell us what you think

That is the point of the beta. Email connect@adoptest.com with:

  • anything confusing, wrong or slow
  • a page where the score felt unfair, and why
  • what you would need before you'd pay for it

If you write, include the site ID shown in the panel, so we can find your site.

Your details and calls

When you ask for beta access, you give us your name, your email address, and in most cases a phone number. This section says what we do with them. If you would rather not be contacted, do not fill in the form.

  • Why we contact you: to send your installation link, to set up your site, and to ask how the beta is going. That is the only reason.
  • Please expect a call. A member of our team calls to understand your setup and help you get started. We do not use automated dialling or recorded campaigns, and we do not add you to a marketing list.
  • How long we keep them: our default retention period is 6 months from your last contact with us. Then we delete them.
  • Change your mind at any time: email connect@adoptest.com to stop calls, to hear from us only by email, or to have your details deleted now. We act on it as soon as we see it and confirm within 30 days. It does not affect the access you already have.
  • Who sees them: our team, and the tools we use to collect the form and send messages. We do not sell contact details or share them with advertisers.
  • Other people: please do not add a colleague's details unless you have told them first.

Your Confluence content is separate from all of this and follows the rules in Your data. For access, correction, deletion or a complaint, see our privacy policy or write to connect@adoptest.com.

Request beta access

Fill in this form. We review each request and email you the installation link once access is granted.

Before you submit: by sending this form you agree that a member of our team may contact you about the beta by phone, email or chat, and that we keep your details for 6 months from your last contact with us, then delete them. Prefer email only, or want them gone sooner? Email connect@adoptest.com and we will do it. More in Your details and calls.
